Survival

How to survive

The public description names four jobs: scavenge food, store water, barricade the apartment, and stay quiet while the halls fill up.

Health, Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue, and Stamina are the five bars in a clear HUD frame. Fatigue climbs over time and sleeping brings it down. Stamina is what you spend to sprint. Hunger, thirst, or injury can stop you from running even if the stamina pass is on.

There is no noise meter. Noise is the reason zombies come to a door: sprinting, dropped items, a fight, a radio on speaker, a door, a dragged piece of furniture. The handbook line that shows up in guides says a radio through headphones is safer than a loud speaker.

Sleep moves the day counter. The corner of the screen shows DAY N and a clock. Recorded runs reach Day 2 and Day 4. Nobody in the public videos has posted a Day 100 clear.

On the night of Day 2, a broadcast warns that water and power service will be interrupted. Two separate videos show the lights and the elevator going out after that warning. One written guide says Day 3. I keep the videos' night and note that a run can differ.

The apartment is home base, not a safe room. Doors get broken. You repair them with boards and screws, and you can shove furniture against them. The barricade page is the longer version of that.

Before you leave, check the peephole, take only what you can carry back, and plan the return before the hall gets loud. Water, food, noise, and barricades each have their own page so this one stays the map.

Questions

Is there a noise bar?

No. The fifth bars in footage are Fatigue and Stamina. Noise is a reason zombies investigate, not a meter.

When do the lights go out?

Two videos show the cut on the night of Day 2, after a broadcast about water and power. A wiki says Day 3. Both stay on the page.
