Securing the apartment

Three layers show up in footage: the lock, the chain, then furniture or boards. None of them make the apartment permanent.

F is the lock. T is the chain. With the chain on, your door opens a crack, which is enough to look and not enough to walk through. R is the peephole before either of those moves.

Furniture can be pushed. A recorded run drags a table toward the door. Not every piece blocks. The videos do not grade sofas against chairs, so I am not publishing a ranking.

When the door is already damaged, the materials named on camera are a board or plank plus a box of screws. A hammer shows up in the same repairs. One wiki says a screw box covers two uses. That sentence has one home, so I am not promoting it to a rule.

Zombies break doors. In the co-op video the door fails and the group falls back. I would rather you expect that than read a guide that promises a sealed base. The official description says barricade, and the footage says the barricade loses.

One objective reads Close the east fire door. It appears in the long RyanThaGamer run alongside the other building tasks. I do not know what happens if you ignore it. The objective text is the whole fact.

Night order that matches the clips: peephole, chain, lock, heavy piece against the door if you have one, boards only after something has already hit. Then stay quiet. Noise is why they pick your door. That mechanic has its own page.

Questions

Can I make the apartment unbreakable?

No source shows that. Doors get smashed in the co-op footage, and the players retreat.

What do I need to repair a door?

A plank and screws, with a hammer used in the same scenes. Exact counts are not on the HUD.
