Noise

Staying quiet at night

The game tells you to stay quiet as zombies fill the hallways. Nothing on the HUD is a noise meter. You hear the mistake when something knocks.

Daniel's Night 0 line is the shortest version: keep the noise down and they stay put. A co-op clip has a teammate say you are making too much noise. The official sentence is 'stay quiet as zombies fill the hallways.'

Actions that the handbook or the videos tie to noise: sprinting, dropping an item, fighting, a radio on its speaker, opening a door, dragging furniture. Crouching and walking slowly are what the careful runs do in the hall. I am not assigning a decibel to any of those.

The handbook line repeated in guides: a radio heard through headphones is safer than a loud speaker, turn equipment off when you finish, and listen before you open a door. Custom Music Radio, the pass, plays an audio id through a battery radio, and the description says nearby players and the infected can hear it. Story broadcasts interrupt it. The pass does not give you the radio.

Zombies knock and then hit the door. Noise is how a hallway finds your apartment. Infinite Stamina does not make sprinting quiet. The pass text says running still makes noise.

Night checklist from those lines: chain on, speaker off, no sprint in the hall, listen, then open. If the door starts taking hits, the barricade page is the next read. Combat numbers for the bat and the hammer live on the items table, not here.

Questions

Where is the noise bar?

There isn't one. The bars are Health, Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue, and Stamina. Green is stamina in the frame we used.

Does the stamina pass let me sprint quietly?

No. The pass description says sprinting still makes noise, and hunger, thirst, or injury can still stop the run.
